Alleged MS-13 member faces assault charges

An alleged MS-13 gang member is facing assault charges in connection to a shooting in Southold. Freddie Campos, 16, was arraigned Tuesday on four assault charges and two counts of gang assault.

An alleged MS-13 gang member is facing assault charges in connection to a shooting in Southold.
Freddie Campos, 16, was arraigned Tuesday on four assault charges and two counts of gang assault.
Other alleged gang members 31-year-old Pedro Santamaria and teenagers Jeremias Torres and Walter Vasquez were also arraigned. They pleaded not guilty.
Police say the group attacked two alleged members of a rival gang with a machete and then fired at least five shots on Route 25 in Southold last week.
The victims were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
