A man is under arrest after he allegedly drove drunk in a stolen vehicle and was chased down by the owner, who was driving a taxi.
Police say it all happened Thursday night around 10:30 at the Huntington train station. They say Allen Shelton, 29, stole the personal van of veteran cab driver Mark ?The Shark? Hunking. That?s when Hunking jumped into his own taxicab and chased after the suspected car thief.
Hunking followed Shelton in the van a short distance while calling in a description of the car and alleged thief to 911. Police later stopped them both and apprehended Shelton after he tried to flee on foot.
Police say Shelton has 16 prior suspensions on his license and is on parole from his last DWI conviction. He is charged with 4th-degree grand larceny, driving while intoxicated and a host of other crimes. Shelton faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
