The Long Island Rail Road rolled out its new, more advanced train cars today.
The first M9 train made its debut at 6:50 a.m., going from Huntington to Hunterspoint Avenue.
The train will have other runs throughout the day on the Hempstead and Babylon lines.

LIRR President Phillip Eng told News 12 the seats are wider, there’s bright LED lighting, the bathrooms are touchless, and they provide a much more customer friendly amenity.

Other notable features are power outlets at the end of each row, new displays that tell riders which car they are riding in, and there are buttons to open doors between cars.
The railroad will roll out additional train cars in the coming weeks.
