Police are searching for the suspect in
an armed robbery at a gas station in North Merrick.
The incident occurred at the BP gas
station located on Merrick Avenue on April 27 at 10:30 p.m.
According to detectives, a male subject
entered the gas station, pointed a handgun at the store employee and demanded
he open the register. The 22-year-old employee complied.
Police say the suspect removed an
undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene on foot. There were no
customers present at the time of the robbery and no injuries were reported.
The subject is described as a male Black, 25-30 years old, approximately 5 feet 11
inches tall, with an average build. He
was wearing a black
hooded sweatshirt under a yellow reflective vest, black pants, black hat and a
black facemask.
