Another shipment of medical supplies is on its way to earthquake-ravaged Turkey.
Yonkers-based AFYA Foundation collects medical supplies when natural disasters strike.
This time, it has worked with the Greater New York Hospital Association to gather supplies for Turkey.
Right now, the biggest issue facing the injured in Turkey is mobility.
AFYA collected 29 pallets of rehab supplies donated by NYU Langone Health.  Thanks to the Turkey Consulate in New York, the supplies will be shipped to Turkey tomorrow. "A hundred thousand people are going to be unable to move. This is catastrophic, so we need people to come to us with anything they have in their garages, anything in their basement that they are no longer using," says Danielle Butin, CEO and founder of AFYA Foundation.
Those items include walkers, canes, crutches and wheelchairs.
If you would like to donate an item, you can drop it off at the AFYA warehouse in Yonkers during business hours.
