Daniel Tomasky, accused of stabbing and critically injuring a man at Adventureland in July 2024, appeared before a judge Tuesday.

He pleaded guilty to assault and is now expected to be sentenced on Feb. 3.

After the brief appearance Tuesday, his wife spoke to News 12. Rachel Tomasky said that the family wants to clear his name.

She said she was jumped at the amusement park and her husband stepped in to help.

“He’s a hero,” she told News 12. “He did what any man should do. He did exactly what he was supposed to do. He came to my defense, he tried to rescue me from a situation and he definitely shouldn’t be doing this time.”

Daniel Tomasky is expected to be sentenced to three years behind bars.

Had he gone to trial and been convicted, he would have faced a maximum of 25 years behind bars.
