Adventureland opens its doors to public for 1st time in over a year

Those looking to get in on the fun will have to make reservations, and the park will only be operating at 33% capacity.

Families lined up waiting to enter Adventureland this weekend after more than a year of being closed due to the pandemic.
Those looking to get in on the fun had to make reservations since the park will be operating at 33% capacity.

Adventureland co-owner Steven Gentile says it's been a rough 531 days since the park had to close. He says people should feel safe as there are sanitation stations set up, temperature checks and signs reminding attendees to keep 6 feet apart. 
Families who came Saturday, like Bay Shore resident Kimberly Shaw, say it was great to be back.
Other outdoor activity centers have opened to the public this weekend around Long Island, including RPM Raceway in Farmingdale and Tiki Action Park in Centereach.
