The Adelphi men’s lacrosse team won their 8th national championship and first in 23 years on Sunday in Philadelphia.

Though the Panthers have won a record 7 national championships in the NCAA Division II, they haven’t won one since 2001.

On Sunday, the Panthers beat defending champions Lenoir-Rhyne 12-10.

Though Adelphi trailed to start the fourth quarter, Massapequa grad Brian Harinski scored his third goal of the second half, tying the game at 9.

Just over a minute later, Adelphi took the lead for the remainder of the game with Garden City alum Kyle Steinbach leading the way.
