Dozens of people gathered in Rockland County Friday calling for peace and an end to the Gaza conflict.

The vigil was hosted by Rockland for Ceasefire. Those in attendance say they are remembering Palestinians who have died or have been injured in the war. Attendees placed flowers, lit candles and sang songs.

“This vigil, this effort is not against Jewish people, it’s not against Israeli people. It’s for peace, it’s for the end of the cycle of violence,” says Alan Levin, with Rockland for Ceasefire. “To end this, what’s going on right now is for the benefit of the Israeli people, Palestinian people, the American people, really for the whole world.”

“We are peace activists. We want the war to end. We want all wars to end because nobody wins with wars,” says Khader Humied, with Rockland for Ceasefire.
