A new
study finds Suffolk County was the deadliest in the state for pedestrians in
the last decade.
The new AAA report says that 400 people were killed in
Suffolk from 2010 to 2019. Queens and Brooklyn were also listed in the report as having
high deadly incidents.
AAA counted a total of 161,068 incidents statewide
for the whole decade.
2019 marked the third year in a row to have more than 15,00 injuries or deaths.
The study
says that driver inattention was the top contributing factor to pedestrian
injuries and fatalities.
