The Patchogue community rallied Sunday night around a toddler who is battling two rare neurological diseases.
The Blue Point Brewery hosted "A Night For Luca" for 16-month-old Luca Cerullo, of East Moriches. His parents, Allison and Anthony Cerullo, said he was diagnosed with the diseases that affect one in a million people.
The Cerullo family says the doctors who are caring for Luca just told them he might not reach his second birthday.
They say they were overwhelmed by the support they received at the event.
"We have a great community around us. They make it so much easier for us to make memories with him. Every single person who has donated here, online, everywhere is allowing us to do that. We truly are just so thankful," said Allison Cerullo.
Allison Cerullo is a former police dispatcher who is now at home full time to take care of Luca.
Anthony Cerullo is a Suffolk police officer.
There is also a "
Fund The First" campaign for the Cerullo family where people can donate.
