A Concourse community held a special event to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Friday afternoon.
The "A Day On For King" event, held at the 777 Concourse Village East Community Room, was held in conjunction with Radio 103.9 and Assemblyman Michael Blake.
It featured Brooklyn's own MC Lyte and a screening of "Selma."
"I had the honor of being with the King family for President Obama's first Inauguration Day. They said thank you, but I was the one grateful for their father and their service to the people," said Blake in a Facebook post.
