An 82-year-old man was killed, and his son was seriously injured in a house fire Sunday night in Huntington Station, according to authorities.

Firefighters responded to the home at 174 Depot Road just after 11 p.m.

Barry Garfman was pronounced dead at the scene.

His son, Dustin Garfman, 42, was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

Five fire departments responded to extinguish the blaze, police officials say.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
