7th grader wins Fairfield County Interscholastic Chess League Individual Championship

The head of a Bridgeport chess program says a young player could have what it takes to be a professional.
Seventh grader Sebastian Lopez won the Fairfield County Interscholastic Chess League Individual Championship this weekend.
Dar Starbuck Pelletier, who heads up DIG USA, says there is something special about Lopez.
"To see him develop so quickly shows that he might be a professional some day because his rapid growth," Pellitier says "And I'm excited for him because I know he wants to be a professional chess player, he wants to do well in school and I feel chess is going to help him reach his goals."
The program given by DIG USA is for children 11-18 and is free.
