Seven Long Island hospitals were ranked among the safest in the nation, according to a list released by hospital safety watchdog “Leapfrog.”
South Shore University, Syosset, Mather, Saint Charles, NYU Langone in Mineola, Peconic Bay and Saint Francis hospitals all received an “A” rating.
Nassau University Medical Center was the only hospital on Long Island to receive a “D” rating.
The scores are based on factors like how often patients develop infections and what kind of protocols are in place to prevent surgical errors.
