Detectives are searching for the driver that struck a pedestrian in Freeport.
The 66-year-old male was crossing Merrick Road at approximately 8 p.m. when he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling eastbound.
Officials say the victim sustained serious physical injuries and was transported to a local area hospital where he is in critical condition.
Detectives are requesting anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
