U.S. News and World Reports has named six Long Island high schools in the top 40 in the state and the top 200 nationally.

The high-performing school findings are based on things like graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college.

At the top of the list is Jericho High School, South Side High School in Rockville Centre, Garden City High School, Great Neck South High School, Manhasset High School and Cold Spring Harbor High School.
