Rapper 50 Cent was awarded one week of unrestricted visitation with his 11-year-old son Thursday as he and his ex-girlfriend continue to battle in a Central Islip courtroom.
50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson, and his ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins are fighting over their son Marquise, money and property. The rapper was absent from previous court appearances, but says he was present Thursday because he wants to see his son, who he says he hasn?t seen in a while.
Tompkins says Jackson has been allowed to see his son anytime he wanted to, but chose not to. ?This is just a game,? she says. ?This is just damage control.?
Two months ago, a fire deemed suspicious by police burned down the Dix Hills home owned by 50 Cent and inhabited by Tompkins.
Tompkins has publicly blamed Jackson for the fire. He is suing her for $20 million alleging defamation of character.
The court battle over an order of protection petition filed by Tompkins against 50 Cent will resume in September.
