Friday marks six years since NYPD Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo was killed in the Bronx in the line of duty.

Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell and Mayor Eric Adams came to the precinct where he worked Friday to remember and honor the officer on the anniversary of his death.

It was an emotional day at the 43rd Precinct as the mayor and commissioner promoted two officers, Elwin Martinez and Arvid Fores, for their work that day and since.

Tuozzolo’s wife came as well to personally thank the officers who worked alongside her late husband. Tuozzolo was killed in 2016 while responding to a domestic violence incident in the Bronx.

He’d served almost 20 years on the force.

The mayor said that what happened to Tuozzolo is a sacrifice officers make every day.

Tuozzolo was posthumously promoted to sergeant special assignment.
