The NYPD is asking for the public's help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting in the Bronx that left an 87-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man injured.

Police said the shooting happened around 3:49 p.m. on July 31 in front of 3940 Barnes Ave. Investigators said an unidentified man opened fire, striking the elderly woman in the face and torso and the teenage victim in the hip. Both victims were taken by EMS to the hospital and were listed in stable condition.

According to police, the gunman ran away northbound on White Plains Road after the shooting. He is described as a man who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, red shorts, black sneakers and a black backpack.

Police said three 16-year-old males were arrested on Aug. 1 in connection with the incident. Two of the teens were charged with two counts of attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, while a third teen was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

Detectives are continuing to search for the additional suspect and have released images in hopes of identifying him.

Anyone with information is asked to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
