3 dead, 1 critically hurt in Northern State Parkway crash

Three people were killed and a fourth person was critically injured when a car veered off the Northern State Parkway early Saturday morning and crashed into a tree.
State police responded to the scene on the south side of the parkway near Exit 31 shortly before 5 a.m.
Police say 28-year-old Raihan Islam, of Jamaica, Queens, was driving east in a Honda Accord when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as 61-year-old Mohamed D. Alam, and 34-year-old Ataur R. Dulal, both of Jamaica, Queens.
Islam was pronounced dead at Winthrop University Hospital.
Another passenger, identified as 36-year-old Al A. Mollah, was hospitalized in critical condition.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call 631-756-3300.
