A three-car crash in West Hills left one woman seriously hurt and two others with minor injuries.

Suffolk police say 18-year-old Richard Bello and a 17-year-old passenger were driving eastbound on Jericho Turnpike when Bello lost control of the car and veered into oncoming traffic. Police say he hit an SUV head on and struck another car before video from the scene shows him smashed into a wall.

Police say the 69-year-old driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with serious physical injuries. People nearby say it took 40 minutes to get the woman out of the car before an ambulance took her away.

Police say the two teenagers were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The driver and passenger in the third car were uninjured.

Jericho Turnpike was closed between Sweet Hollow Road and Paumonok Drive for nearly six hours.
