The city of Paterson is honoring the legacy of a longtime public servant by renaming a street after the late Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr.
The street sign was unveiled Tuesday in recognition of Pascrell’s decades of service to the city and the state of New Jersey.
Pascrell represented New Jersey’s 9th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives for nearly 28 years. Before serving in Congress, he was the mayor of Paterson from 1990 to 1996.
Current Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh says the street renaming is a tribute to Pascrell’s legacy and his tireless commitment to public service.
