Connecticut is one of the latest states to join a lawsuit accusing Dollar General of overcharging their customers.
The suit alleges thousands of stores engaged in deceptive pricing practices by “routinely charging customers more at the register than the prices displayed on shelves, price tags and advertisements.”
The company’s actions cost consumers millions of dollars, according to the FTC.
Officials say Dollar General received tens of thousands of complaints but failed to address the problem.
News 12 reached out to the retailer for comment but have not heard back.
A total of 20 states are now involved in the complaint launched by the Federal Trade Commission.
Others include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah and Wisconsin.
