The SPCA said the reward money has increased to $3,000 after the New York State Humane Association provided an additional $1,000.

As News 12 previously reported, the turtle was discovered while Town of Babylon Park rangers were investigating a complaint about numerous e-bikes in Geiger Park Lake.

There the rangers pulled the cage from the lake and found the turtle tethered inside.

The turtle was rushed to the West Islip Veterinary Hospital for emergency treatment.
