Federal appeals court rules in favor of Connetquot School District to remove Pride flags

The Amityville Union Free School District has canceled its varsity football season for the 2026-2027 school year.

The district said in a statement to News 12 that the season was canceled due to injuries.

It said that the junior varsity team will continue playing this season.

Port Jefferson announced last week that it was also canceling its football season. Holy Trinity also canceled the season earlier this summer.
