A man was hurt in a boat crash in Suffolk County Saturday evening.

Suffolk Police Marine Bureau officers and Port Jefferson Fire Department’s Marine 6 responded to the watercraft collision around 7:30 p.m. in the Long Island Sound.

A Grady White and a Metal Shark crashed into each other approximately two miles north of Pirates Cove, according to Suffolk police.

A total of five people were involved, with one individual suffering injuries and taken aboard the fire department vessel for transport back to the dock.

The 83-year-old victim was received by Port Jefferson EMS at the Brookhaven Town Boat ramp and taken to a local area hospital for treatment, officials say.

The cause of the collision is under investigation by Suffolk police.
