Woman accused of stealing bus crashes into parked car in Islandia
A woman is accused of stealing a bus from an Islandia depot and crashing it into a parked car minutes later.

A stolen bus early Wednesday morning led to a wild ride in Suffolk County, according to police.
They say a woman stole a bus from a depot in Islandia around 5:15 a.m. Investigators say the keys were left inside the bus.
Police say the woman drove through a fence, before crashing the bus into a parked car about five minutes later.
The crash happened on Bellmore Avenue, near the intersection of Cedarhurst Street and Lowell Avenue.
Police say the woman then ran from the scene.
“Measures should be taken to safeguard these buses. It’s a heavy, big object that can hurt or kill people and do a lot of damage,” said Allan Schoenfield, of Islip Terrace.
Police say they found the woman about six hours later and she was arrested.
