A major law enforcement operation in Long Beach resulted in the seizure of more than 20 illegal firearms, a cache of narcotics and more than $100,000 in cash, according to authorities.
The raid, conducted Friday as part of a joint investigation involving the Long Beach Police Department, the Nassau County District Attorney's Office and the FBI, led to the arrest of one person. Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities recovered more than 20 guns during the search, along with multiple illegal drugs, including heroin, fentanyl, ecstasy and cocaine. Investigators also seized more than $100,000 in cash.
The circumstances surrounding the arrest have not yet been released.
The Nassau County District Attorney's Office, Long Beach police and the FBI are scheduled to hold a news conference later Monday morning at Long Beach City Hall. Officials are expected to provide additional details about the investigation and the suspect in custody.
Authorities also plan to display the firearms, narcotics and cash recovered during the operation.
