A former treasurer for two Deptford Township parent-teacher organizations was sentenced Friday to five years of probation after admitting to stealing nearly $100,000 from the groups.

Tara Webb, 37, was also ordered to repay the full $99,378.06 taken from bank accounts that belong to the Shady Lane and Pine Acres Early Childhood Center Parent Teacher Organizations, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said Webb stole the money over the course of more than a year while she served as treasurer for the organizations.

She pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking.

Webb must pay full restitution and may not have contact with the victims under the plea agreement that she agreed to. She is also barred from working in fundraising or managing funds for any nonprofit organization during her five-year probation.
