A woman died after her car careened into an in-ground pool in Hewlett on Friday.
Nassau police say the 40-year-old woman was in the in the driveway of a home on Elinor Road when she lost control of the vehicle, just before 9:30 a.m.
She struck a tree, a parked car and then ended up in the pool, according to police.
The woman was removed from the vehicle before police arrived.
First responders attempted lifesaving measures before she was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
