Man accused of intercepting mailed checks worth nearly $500K

A man is accused of intercepting checks in the mail from a Nassau County company.

The Woodbury business reported having two checks seized by an unknown person after they were sent on June 23, police say.

The total amount of money mailed exceeded $495,000, according to the complainants.

After a thorough investigation by the Electronics Squad/Fraud & Forgery Section detectives, Raymond Nagaloo, 31, of Jamaica, Queens, was arrested.

Nagaloo will be charged with two counts of grand larceny when he is arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
