The state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision has confirmed convicted serial killer Rex Heuermann's prison and security level.
The department says Heuermann was assigned to the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora.
As News 12 previously reported, he had been moved to the maximum-security facility from the Green Haven Correctional Facility in Dutchess County.
Heuermann was imprisoned after he admitted in April to murdering eight women from 1993 to 2010.
