2 people arrested after Shirley house fight turns fatal

Suffolk County police arrested two people, accused of killing a man during a fight at his home in Shirley over the weekend.
Officials said they responded to 183 Hounslow Rd. around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, after someone who lived in the home reported a fight that involved a man who rents a room there.
Officers said they found Christopher Martin, 48, seriously injured.
Martin was taken to the hospital, where he died.
This morning, Suffolk County police said Homicide Squad detectives arrested Korey Sammarco, 36, who lives at the same address as the victim and Melissa Fawcett, 50, who lives in Central Islip.
Suffolk County police charged the pair with 1st degree gang assault.
Both are being held overnight in separate precincts and are scheduled to be arraigned later this morning at First District Court in Central Islip.
