Gov. Ned Lamont has activated the state’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol as a stretch of dangerously hot and humid weather is expected to hit the region. The order is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2026.
The protocol opens statewide cooling centers and coordinates state and local resources to protect residents during the heat wave. Anyone needing a place to cool down can locate a nearby center by visiting 211ct.org or calling 2-1-1.
Schools issuing early dismissals Friday include Milford, Bridgeport, Fairfield, New Milford, Danbury and Stratford.
