A man has been arrested after shooting a reenactment musket outside of Massapequa High School.

Nassau police say they responded to a suspicious occurrence at around 11 a.m. on Saturday near Merrick Road. A man had test-fired a musket outside in the school's parking lot and then left the area.

Massapequa High School, in an online letter to the community, said that the incident occurred during the administration of an SAT examination and that the school's security personnel responded immediately. The school says that no one was in any danger and the SAT testing continued without disruption.

The school turned the incident over to the police who say that the man returned once he knew police had been called and cooperated. He was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
