The Long Island Rail Road is experiencing disruptions due to an electrical fire that broke out Thursday at Penn Station.
MTA officials say customers can expect delays and reroutes along the Babylon branch, as service continues to be suspended out of Penn Station.
The MTA asks riders use Grand Central or Atlantic Terminal services. Extra trains are operating from Grand Central.
The subway will be cross-honoring LIRR tickets, officials say.
News 12 is told that there was an electrical fire in Line 4 near the interlocking mechanism, and that Amtrak lines 3 and 4 are suspended.
The MTA says Penn Station service will remain suspended through the Friday morning rush.
It says most trains are diverted to/from Grand Central, which will remain open throughout the night.
