New York City has introduced a $4 billion investment initiative to strengthen housing production and preservation.

New York City Comptroller Mark Levine says the initiative will commit roughly $1 billion per year over the next four years to address the affordability crisis.

The plan includes preserving existing affordable housing, converting office spaces into residential homes and using pension capital to generate risk-adjusted returns.
