According to Nassau police, two 18-year-old men from Florida were arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Elmont.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired near Locustwood Boulevard and 106th Avenue at about 7:53 p.m. on Saturday, March 28. Investigators determined that two males fired handguns toward a vehicle before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.
Following an investigation, police arrested Jordan Johnson and Audubree Steele, both from West Palm Beach, on Wednesday, April 1. Steele was found in possession of a handgun, authorities said.
Steele faces multiple weapon possession charges, as well as reckless endangerment and attempted assault. Johnson is also charged with weapon possession, reckless endangerment and attempted assault.
Both defendants are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday, April 2, at First District Court in Hempstead.
