A 19-year-old driver was injured Monday afternoon after crashing his car into a home in East Hills, causing significant structural damage and leaving the residence uninhabitable.

Police say the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Beechwood Road. The driver was traveling north when his vehicle veered off the roadway and slammed into the house.

The impact caused heavy damage to the garage door and a portion of the home’s side, raising immediate concerns about the building’s stability. Fire officials responded to the scene and brought in specialized resources to shore up the structure and prevent a potential collapse.

The driver was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Following an inspection, the Roslyn Building Department determined the home is unsafe to live in.
