Outback Steakhouse in East Setauket closes its doors

A popular restaurant chain has shuttered one of its Long Island locations.

The Outback Steakhouse in East Setauket is now permanently closed.

News 12 has learned the business turned off the lights for good this past weekend as their lease was expiring.

The restaurant had been in operation in a shopping center off Nesconset Highway for the last 30 years.

Outback’s parent company, Bloomin’ Brands, abruptly closed 21 locations in October as it began a “comprehensive turnaround strategy.”

There are currently still five other Outbacks on the Long Island – Commack, Holbrook, Island Park, Lindenhurst and Westbury.
