Suffolk police are looking for two people accused of stealing money from businesses in a shortchange scheme.

The men asked for change of a $100 bill but walked away with nearly $1,000 according to police.

The incidents happened at the Lowe’s Home Improvement stores in Medford and Stony Brook on Feb. 10.

In both instances, the men would ask the cashier for change, then change their mind multiple times about the denomination of change they wanted back.

They would also claim they were shortchanged to confuse the workers.

Police tell News 12 the pair fled in a silver Chrysler Pacifica without license plates.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
