Two men accused of scamming a 92-year-old Central Islip resident out of $250,000 were arrested on Friday.

Officials say Oral Durloo and Brandon Nairne contacted the victim via phone in December 2025.

They falsely claimed that he had won $18 million in a sweepstakes from the Publisher’s Clearing House.

The duo told him he had to write personal checks and withdraw money for taxes associated with the prize.

Authorities launched an investigation with the help of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the NYPD Financial Crimes Task Force and Suffolk County Police Financial Crimes Unit.

The two suspects were identified and charged with grand larceny. Both were held overnight for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip.
