CT Student Loan Reimbursement Program opens new grant round for payments made in 2025

Qualifying applicants could see up to $5,000 forgiven per year, with a maximum reimbursement of $20,000 over four years.

A new round of grants opened up on Monday for student loan borrowers in Connecticut.

The state's Student Loan Reimbursement Program, created in 2024, is now accepting applications for payments that were made in 2025.

Eligible applicants can apply for reimbursement grants of up to $5,000 per year, or $20,000 over four years. 

Qualifications include: 

  • Be a Connecticut resident.

  • Have made loan payments in 2025.

  • Earned a degree in from a Connecticut college or university, or completed a state-approved program for a professional license or certification.

  • Make less than $125,000 for single filers, or $175,000 for married filers.

  • Complete required community service.

Applications can be submitted through the CT Scholars online portal.
