It’s been one week since Long Island was hit with a double-digit snowfall, and some residents say the cleanup is far from complete. They told News 12 that the snow-covered bus stops have made it difficult for riders to access public transportation.
Jack Parikh says he relies on the bus to get to work but has struggled to reach the stop due to icy conditions.
"I take the bus and they haven't plowed the bus tent," Parikh said. " It's very icy and it's hard for me to get to work."
News 12 reached out to the Department of Transportation to find out who is responsible for clearing snow from these bus stops.
They issued the following statement:
"Suffolk County continues to dig out from the storm. Each bus stop is being addressed. If residents would like to report any trouble areas please call the county’s 311 system."
