Almost a week after the snowstorm, snow covered bus stops and sidewalks across Long Island are making conditions dangerous.

In Central Islip along Carleton Avenue multiple bus stops were still blocked by piles of snow and ice.

“This is a mess,” Micheal Forster of East Islip said. “…There are people that take the bus that are handicapped. They’re in wheelchairs. They got to stand out here in this and pray that somebody is paying attention to driving instead of their phone.”

News 12 reached out to Suffolk County to ask who is responsible for clearing these areas. It said it depends on the road. The Department of Public Works is still removing snow across the county, and residents should call 311 to report bad conditions.
