An airline that flies out of MacArthur Airport is ending its partnership with ICE.

Avelo Airlines has announced it will stop participating in deportation flights.

They are stopping flights from three bases in Arizona due to related expenses and logistical challenges.

Avelo was the only commercial airline to partner with ICE.

State Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages, of Valley Stream, had proposed a law last year that would prohibit contracts and tax benefits for airlines helping ICE.

That proposal remains in committee review.
