Sprinkles have been popping up throughout the afternoon hours around New Jersey. It is a normal occurrence when you get mainly sunny skies trying to warm the surface, but colder air a few thousand feet above us quickly creates clouds. The atmosphere just squeezes out those instability showers. When the sun sets, the showers will shut off.
Skies will be mainly clear tonight. The winds will continue to divert Canadian air in our direction. The atmosphere will be dry, breezy and a little on the chillier side. Nighttime lows in northwestern New Jersey could drop into the 40s.
Sunny skies will carry us through the end of the work and school week. Highs, while pleasant, will be a few degrees below the seasonal average. I call it a "Goldilocks forecast." Not too hot, not too humid. It's just right.
Saturday and Sunday look wonderful. Lots of sunshine and temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s
