Legend is looking for a hero after two years
Legend, a beloved 3-year-old pit bull mix at the Bergen County shelter, is an affectionate, playful 70-pound bundle of love searching for his permanent family this holiday season.
As the shelter's longest resident, Legend's journey began in March 2023, when he was surrendered. Now, after spending nearly two years waiting, this gentle giant is ready to be the hero of his own story.
Legend is not just handsome; he's smart, too! He has been attending specialized training sessions with Behavior Plus, one of the shelter's contracted trainers, and is reportedly "thriving" in his lessons.
"What you'll notice most about Legend is his goofy, loving heart," a shelter volunteer said. He gets along exceptionally well with other dogs and is simply waiting to be included in whatever his forever family is doing
While he is great with children, an ideal home is suggested to include children who are older, such as around 15 years old and up.
