A teen is accused of stabbing another teen during a fight in Brightwaters last night, according to officials.

Suffolk County police said they responded to the back parking lot of 169 Orinoco Dr. just before 9 p.m. after receiving a 911 call about the altercation.

Police said they found the victim at the scene with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to the hospital, where he is in serious condition and being treated.

Police eventually arrested a 17-year-old, who they are not naming due to his age, at his home. They charged him with one count of second-degree gang assault.

The charge of gang assault does not mean that someone is accused of being in a gang; it just means multiple people are alleged to be involved in the assault.

The defendant was arraigned Thursday afternoon and pleaded not guilty. He is being held on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.

Suffolk County police said the investigation is ongoing and detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
